Enstrom Candies is a name synonymous with our community, and Becca Botts has been working behind the scenes, sharing a piece of Grand Junction with the world through her remarkable 26-year career journey with the company.
Becca originally started as a waitress, looking for a professional change. She applied for a seasonal toffee-packing role to support Enstrom's during its busy holiday season. Though her first application didn't land her the job, she received a call two months later
"I came in and started packing toffee," Becca shares. "A couple of years after I started, I became the Toffee Pack II...I was the second in there to the supervisor for 13 years, and then moved over to the specialty kitchen."
Today as the Specialty Kitchen Lead, Becca oversees everything from the truffle lines to handcrafted candy making. Walking past giant blocks of butter and massive 6,000 lbs chocolate tanks, she takes immense pride in the regional heritage of her work.
"We're proud because that's our craftsmanship. We can go anywhere in the store and say 'Yes, we did that. That was done by hand.' We get to share a piece of Grand Junction with the world."
Living The Western Colorado Lifestyle
Beyond finding her professional calling, Grand Junction has allowed Becca to lean entirely into her love for the outdoors. Thanks to Mesa County's temperate climate, residents enjoy year-round access to recreational amenities.
"I love to be outside," says Becca. "You can hike, fish, camp...you can golf almost all year round in Western Colorado. There's just so much to do!"
